Sleeping people sketches - Sydney->Perth
Thursday August 11, 2011
I’m back in Perth, albeit fleetingly. Sydney was very interesting; certainly more work-focused than Melbourne and Brisbane. I visited a modest handful of film and advertising studios and met great (and talented) people at every one of them!
I got totally lost trying to find Halo Pictures in Manly though! The city does suffer the odd navigational issue as not all streets are signed. Also, housing numbers aren’t always placed in accordance with those on the opposite side of the road. One side might be 120, 122, 124 while the other is 57, 59, 61. Que?!
Those poor postal workers.
Anyway, aside from work some of my favourite experiences were food-related. Like Melbourne, it’s a great city to get your foodsploration on. I had a few awesome meals on Kellett St in Kings Cross. There was a phenomenal tapas place which I can’t find listed on Google maps. And you know it’s good when I use a word like ‘phenomenal’. Cracking out my tophat brand eloquence like a real food critic. But we just wandered into it so I don’t recall the name either; it was opposite Prague, a very meat-driven Czech beer restaurant on the same street.
Adventure aside, it’s probably time for some art now, so here are some celebratory drawings from the flight home.
